Why isn’t my website secure?
-
I started having problems with connectivity with my web site which used to be handled by a local 3rd party. I went ahead and paid my annual fee to fall under the WordPress blanket, to protect my site. Now when I try to connect or when others connect, I get the following message: ‘Not Secure’ in the url address bar. When I clicked on the exclamation point in the triangle, it took me to Microsoft’s site. This is what is said in Microsoft for this message:
This website doesn’t have a valid certificate. The information sent to and from it is NOT SECURE and can by intercepted by an attacker or seen by others. There’s a risk to your person data when sending or receiving information from this site.
It goes on to say, ‘If possible, contact the website owner (which I assume is you, at WordPress), to request that their site protect its data with a secure connection.’
Please advise on how this can be resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you!
