Why isn't my Xanga import working?

    I have literally tried to import my Xanga blog to WordPress upwards of ten times. It never processes or shows up. I have tried importing it one file at a time, following the directions listed on WordPress PRECISELY.

    I’m getting very annoyed and would like to find a solution so that I can reclaim my blog content.

    Have you tried using a different browser? http://browsehappy.com

    Xanga import: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

    If you are following those steps and still run into errors, a couple things that often help are trying a different browser (like Chrome) or using the WordPress importer rather than the Xanga-specific one.

    Thanks for the response.

    I have used Chrome for my most recent attempts, but I will go back and try with Firefox and Safari. I might think that the problems could be related to my Mac, but I’ve also tried importing with Chrome on my PC (Windows 8)! No luck either way.

    I do not see any Xanga imports in process right now, but I can see you’ve tried importing your files in the past.

    I have a few questions that will help me troubleshoot this for you.

    1) Are you using the Xanga-specific importer? If so, you might try the WordPress importer, as sometimes that works for people when the Xanga one does not.

    2) How many individual Xanga files do you have in your export folder? Have you tried importing all of them? Your posts may not appear until all of the files have been imported.

    3) Do you get any error messages when you try your import, or does everything seem to be working, but nothing appears?

    Hello,

    Importing all three of the individual Xanga files did the trick! I had never tried all three before…I would try one and it didn’t seem to be working.

    Anyway, now all three are imported and problem solved…thanks!
