why isnt site name deleted

  I have created another site on WordPress but had to delete it cos I didnt want to use the permanent email address. So I deleted the site and tried to start again. I like the site’s title and tried to use it again but when I create an account it says name taken. So the site is deleted but teh name isnt? I dont get this.

  Once you delete a blog URL it is gone forever and will not be recycled, just like the warnings you were given
