Why isn't the Like button working?

  Like button isn’t working. When readers click it, a page opens up requiring them to log into WordPress. I saw that others have recently had problems with the Like button, but the problem on my site is different.

  Hi there,

  In order for someone to like a blog post or page, they do indeed have to be a logged-in WordPress.com user in order to like a blog entry or page. Are your pages malfunctioning in some other way?

  Thanks for your response. That’s just silly that only WordPress users can “like” a blog or post. If not everyone who likes a post can “Like” it, then there should be a little note under the button that you have to be a logged-in WordPress.com user.

  Hi there,

  I understand your frustration, however if you think about every form of social media, you need to have an account in order to “like” a post. From Facebook to Tumblr and beyond, you have to have an account and be logged-in in order to like a post. This helps us try and prevent misuse of the system.
