Why my site is not showing in Google??

  Hi there
  My wordpress blog hasn’t shown up in Google search at all. After a number of months it still hasn’t shown up. I’ve read up on a number different forums about what could be the problems, and its bewildering. First, i’ve gone into settings checked that it’s set to Public. Saved. All the other settings are fine, and saved. So what do I need to do? Other users talk about add-ons like Google Search Console, do I need to verify it? or SEO? XML Site map? Any and all help greatly appreciated. Please.
