Why New post notifications not delivering pictures to my readers?
-
Any idea why New post notifications (Subscriptions Delivery sent by email to email subscribers) are not delivering pictures to my readers? (only delivering text).
Please note I have HTML selected as Email Delivery Format.
Many thanks

The first thing to check is to make sure your readers are clicking the “show images” button or link on their e-mail client. Most e-mail services hide images by default. If you’ve already tried that, or it doesn’t work let me know and we’ll try something else.

Thanks for your reply.
Email Service settings is actually turned to “always show external images” .
In fact what caught my attention is precisely the fact that Images from other blogs I subscribe to are being delivered to my mail within the New Post Notifications; whereas images from my blog posts never get delivered (New Post Notifications will systematically display only the post text).
As previously mentioned, I do have HTML selected as Email Delivery Format for my particular blog.
Additional info:
I use the Forever Theme;
My posts systematically contain images;
+ I always feature an image in all my posts.Thank you so much for your help

I’m not sure what is going on then. I’ll tag this thread for staff assistance. Another volunteer might respond before you hear from staff, but with the tag we can be sure your question won’t fall through the cracks. If you subscribe to the thread you will be notified via e-mail of future responses. It can take a little while to hear back from staff depending on request volume but rest assured someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi @byethnica,
That’s odd indeed. The images should be coming through. Here’s what I see for your latest blog post:
When you find the subscription emails, are they getting caught in your Spam filter? I believe Gmail blocks images from emails that hit the Spam filter by default.
Let me know if they’re ending up as spam by any chance!

Thank you for your help.
In response to your question:
No, the subscription emails delivered by my blog are not getting caught in my Spam filter. They do get delivered straight into my Gmail social tab.
I must say that some other WordPress blogs subscription emails I receive from other blogs than mine also get delivered straight into my Gmail social tab (like mine) but they do display pictures (unlike mine).
Another portion of other WordPress blogs subscription emails I receive from other blogs than mine will go straight to the main Gmail tab and will display pictures .
I could send you a screenshot of any of my blog last subscription emails if you wish, or I may even forward It to you.
I clicked on this link but it turned out to be a black screen: https://cloudup.com/caOlQKd98l6
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi there,
I believe I’ve found the issue. Currently, your new post emails are set to just display the post summary. If you switch this to “Full Post” under “For each article in a feed, show”, you should be good to go. That option can be found here:
https://byethnica.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php
Can you give that a shot?
Also, just a note regarding bumping the topic, you don’t need to reply to topics to raise them back up in the queue. In fact, that can actually hurt your reply time. When you reply to a topic, the age since last reply is reset, bumping the ticket back to the bottom. We’ll reply as soon as possible!

Hi jeremeylduvall.
Thank you so much for your help.
You are right, this actually solved the problem! I just tested It and It now works.
In fact I always thought the “For each article in a feed, show
Full text VS Summary” reading options were exclusive to RSS feeds.Sorry for bumping up the topic, I was not aware. I actually thought the topic would go unnoticed since, as a matter of fact, the issue had been handled already + weekend in between.
Thank you so much for your time and your help.
