Why no comments on Pages?

Why don’t pages have a place for comments? I have a guest writer who has a page/link on my blog, but seldom gets comments simply because there’s no place for them?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Blogs here always have comments enabled on Pages unless you’ve disabled them. Check your Discussion settings. Also, you can Edit the page and enable comments on the discussion module on the Edit page after you’ve made sure you haven’t globally disabled them.

The only place I can see for comments is ALL THE WAY AT THE BOTTOM where it says leave a reply. I want my friend who authors the page to have a comment area below each post he makes. Is this not possible?

Uh, that’s where the comments go, at the bottom of the page. If he wants to make short posts and have comments beneath each of them, he needs to write multiple shorter pages or write Posts.

Uh, what I was trying to say is why is there not a “leave reply” beneath each comment JUST LIKE THE POST PAGE?

Just as I thought, you’re trying to use your Pages like posts, with constant updates. A Page is ONE THING. It has, therefore, one place for comments, which is at the bottom of the page. Your posts also have a comment form at the bottom of the page.

You’d have been better off having your contributor make Posts and then setting up a page for him like whatever.com/author/whoever and using a custom menu to link to that. That is the ONLY way for a comment form to be inserted between each “blurb”.
