Why not support OpenDocument files, too?

    WordPress supports spreadsheets in Microsoft xls and xlsx formats, but not the OpenOffice / LibreOffice / OpenDocument ods format.

    Similarly, presentations must be in Microsoft Powerpoint ppt, pptx, pps, and ppsx formats. Presentations in OpenOffice / OpenDocument odp can’t be uploaded.

    Converting OpenDocument files to Microsoft formats generally does not work well, as the conversion process depends on reverse-engineering various undocumented MS file formats.

    Given that the files all do the same things, please permit openly documented file formats in addition to the proprietary & undocumented Microsoft formats.

    Both Microsoft and OpenOffice use ZIP compression around their XML files. It would be very nice to be allowed to upload ordinary ZIP files, too!
