  I paid £94 for your Patch premium theme and am now being told I need to buy it again from the design company as WP doesn’t allow exporting!
  This feels very fraudulent to me and because I have passed the 30 day period I cannot get a refund. I would like a refund and for you to make this issue crystal clear when we are purchasing.
  This is a rip off WP!!!

  I’m just a volunteer, so I can’t see your backend to check what is going on but… what is exactly the problem? What do you mean by exporting? Are you trying to install the theme in a different site than the andyhelps.wordpress.com?

  Note: Premium Themes that are set up for WordPress.com use only cannot be transferred to self-hosted WordPress.org sites. Some Automattic-developed premium themes can be transferred to a self-hosted site at no charge, as part of a Guided Transfer. Please post in the premium theme forums if you’d like to know whether your theme qualifies.

  About the refund, you can type “modlook” on the tags section on the sidebar of the topic, to get WordPress.com staff to take a look at your case.

  Hi there @andyhelps,

  Are you trying to transfer your premium theme to another WordPress.com blog, or are you wanting to export a theme to a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog? As @pedger stated, the latter is not possible.

  There may be some confusion on the difference WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG.

  The Patch Theme from WordPress.com is a different version from the third party patch theme that is coded specifically for self-hosted sites. Pixelgrade is selling the theme to you because it is technically a different product on a different platform. The one you purchased through us is incompatible with WordPress.org (and vice versa). It is similar to having a game of the same name for Playstation and XBox. They are only compatible on the system for which they were designed for and you will need to purchase them separately in order for them to work on each respective system.

  And yes, purchases for premium themes can only be refunded within the first 30 days of purchase, but I wanted to make sure that your intention was to move to WordPress.org and not simply transfer the upgrade to another WordPress.com blog.
