why should i pay for extra 10gb storage per year??

Hallo. I just purchased extra space of 10 GB and i am a bit confused about the information that the payment for the extra 10 gb will be recharged after 12 months again. The question is: Do i must pay this 20 USD for mine 10GB space every year? or just at the time the space will be all used ??

thank you very much for your answer.

You pay every year per blog for the upgrade. If you haven’t used all your 3GB of free storage then don’t buy the upgrade. That’s space for thousands and thousands of properly compressed images and files.

sticking a pile (maybe hundreds??) of large pictures on the front page is a real traffic killer and major irritant – you really should address things – why make visitors load a pile of stuff they might not be interested in??

Yes, I agree. When I looked at the op’s blog / site there was only one picture there. Now it is very slow to load. Properly compressed pictures, under 100kb or less would make a big difference in load time and fewer potential readers who will just move on because the page takes too long to load.

Everything I looked at was 1,000 kb or larger – I gave up after a minute or so

Well, no sense in me looking then. I would just close the page anyways.

My personal 100Kb rule of thumb only applies if there are just a few images, maybe less than 5. More than that and they should be dropped to around 50Kb maximum.

For pages with large numbers of images (maybe 20 or more?), I’d drop to 25Kb Thumbnails linked to the larger images.

I put some up that are around 200 kb on a photo site I do of pictures of friends – but I put the pictures behind the More Tag with one compressed shot and some text on the front page –
