why site-error "…wordpress.com doesn’t exist"??

    Since a few days, activating the link http://www.aoe-music.com I get redirected to WP-site-error “aoe-music.wordpress.com doesn’t exist”. I don’t understand that message, because when I am logged in to WP it shows me the blog name: aoemusicblog.wordpress.com
    Please help to clean up my confusion and explain me, why I can not activate a link to my HP?

    Hi,

    There’s no hyphen in the site address, as there is in the site title. The correct address (URL) is https://aoemusicblog.wordpress.com/.

    Hi there,

    You used to have the domain, aoe-music.com, connected to the WordPress.com site, aoemusicblog.wordpress.com, via a domain mapping upgrade. That upgrade expired, and was removed from your account on 30 September 2018.

    Since then it appears you have set up a 301 redirect with your domain provider instead of buying a new domain mapping for the domain, and you have set up that redirect to go to aoe-music.wordpress.com, which does not exist, rather than your WordPress.com address, aoemusicblog.wordpress.com

    So @musicdoc1 is correct in his diagnosis of the problem.

    To have things work as they were before, cancel the redirect you set up with your domain provider, and on WordPress.com go to My Site ->Plans to buy a new plan and domain mapping upgrade to reconnect your domain to your site.

    Yes, there is none if the instruction to point your domain to aoemusicblog.wordpress.com is by using name servers which is already the current setup.

    So, it is best to know what’s the correct instruction to point aoemusicblog.wordpress.com to your custom domain so we can advise you what is needed to be done.

    P.P.S.: My Google-Ranking is anywhere… Why I don’t get e-mail notification of expired site-mapping?? I think that would be important for comercial use, no?

    Hi artofextreme,

    I see you purchased a domain mapping upgrade yesterday, which connects aoe-music.com to aoemusicblog.wordpress.com. The site appears to be working as expected now but if you are still having issues, could you try clearing your browser cache (to make sure you browser isn’t caching any old redirects)?

    Why I don’t get e-mail notification of expired site-mapping??

    Renewal reminders are sent to the email address on your Account Settings page. Our system shows they were sent successfully so I recommend checking that information is up to date if the email didn’t come through and isn’t in your spam folder.

    My Google-Ranking is anywhere…
