Why So Hard to Cancel Account
-
I followed all of the instructions to have my account cancelled (deleted my credit card, etc.). And yet I still received notice of a bill posted to my account. There should be an easy way to cancel from “My Account”. Why there isn’t I simply don’t understand. This is poor customer service.

Just started a wordpress.com business trial, 10 minutes in and it doesn’t integrate any better with Shopify than the free widget. Utter junk. I wish I didn’t have to poke around to figure this out and they weren’t so misleading. Trying to cancel my account now… oh wait that’s not even kind of straightforward.

Hi everyone,
You can manage your upgrades and cancel an existing upgrade from your My Upgrades page if you need.
@webwave2013 & @flumarino — I see that Nicole took care of both your plans via email; you can reply to her latest email with any further questions or concerns about that.
@spynesk81 — I see you successfully cancelled your WordPress.com Business trial plan; thanks for your feedback. Please let me know if there’s anything more I can do to help.

I got charged $99 for the next year of service, and it hasn’t been a year since I initially signed up. I need help canceling my account, and getting that refund. Please help!
Thanks.

Hi salvasummer,
Your Premium plan auto renewed, which happens one month before its expiration date in case there are any problems during the renewal process. I just cancelled and refunded that renewal for you. It may take some time for that refund to appear on your bank statement, but you can find the refund receipt now in your Billing History.
