why still english itema in 100% translated theme?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I try in English …
I use Eventbrite Multi Event. 100% translated in German language after GlotPress.
On buttom of the pages, there is written
‘One thought on …’ instead of ‘1 Kommentar zu…’
    and
‘name said’ instead of ‘Name zu’ …

    My preferences are GERMAN…

So, how to change this… ???

  • Hi Babi – I’m looking into this for you and will keep you posted here.

  • This translation issue in your theme has been fixed up. You should see the German text strings go live on your site within the next day or two – if you don’t, please let me know.

    It’s already online !!! Thanks.
As I am a new member in this community, I can say, I really like it…

I have to notes to give:

    1. In Germany, we don’t use “Gedanken” (thoughts) in this context. We use “Kommentar” (comment). At all places in this theme (and also in other themes), “Kommentar” is used already.

    2. The word “sagte” is not necessary on this place. It can be canceled … so finally it is just “firstname-name:”

So, if possible, change this, too (bottom of the pages), please … ?
    Thanks Babi

Hi Babi, I have passed your suggestions along to our internationalization team for consideration. As soon as I hear anything I will post back here and let you know.

    Hi Babi,

    Thanks for your suggestions!

    1) The translation of “One thought on” has been updated by the German translation validator, you can see the new translation here and it will start showing up on your site within 24 hours (please let us know if it does not!)

    2) “sagte” (“said”) is part of the original theme design. If multiple people leave comments, those will be prefaced with “Sharon said”, “Kathryn said”, “Richard said” etc to make it clear that names are listed in relation to comments. So the “sagte”/”said” will stay.

If you would like to suggest more translation updates, you could do so directly in the Eventbrite Multi’s German translation project. We have a support article on contributing to translations to get you started.

    Hi jenia,
thanks for your explanations. iqatrophie already explained it to me in German words in the German support forum … so I can understand the english words, too … *smile*

    1) The translation of “One thought on” already is online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2) that’s okay for me…

This community really is helpful – even for me as a rookie on wordpress and as my english is not so good. Thanks for the simplicity in your explanations. And I will help, if I find out other items to be translated … as far as I can *smile*
