Why the $80 late fee?

    I’ve had to work two jobs for the past year. Very little time to think…. much less blog. Is this $80 late fee really necessary? It just floors me and makes renewal out of reach.

    It only takes a couple of minutes to renew a domain name in time, or even during the turnaround process. If you don’t have the time to do that, do you really need a custom domain at all?

    Before domains expire, we send email warnings and display notifications on your dashboard.

    After the grace period ends, your domain enters the redemption period, the length of which can vary. This means the domain name can still be renewed, but our registrar imposes an additional $80.00 redemption fee. (This is standard practice for domain registrars.)
