Why the limited search results?

  What’s the deal with the WordPress search? (The main search for searching blog posts on WordPress – not the blog widget)

  It shows that it finds thousands of related posts but only displays two pages worth of them which is only 20 search results.

  While I’m here…a nice upgrade to the search would be the ability to search for blogs instead of just posts & comments.

  You might try using specific syntax:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

  I always use Google with the following in the search box:

  Searchterm site:wordpress.com

  I don’t have time to mess around. I use Google too. In fact when answering questions here I always have a tab open to Google search.

  Yes, I also use Google, but the fact is, the question was asked about WordPress search, not about Google.

  Thanks for the responses! I’m sure everyone is familiar with Google and I use it almost exclusively but sometimes it’s just nice to be able to search WordPress for WordPress stuff…I just found it a little odd and frustrating that WordPress only allows you to view 20 results out of hundreds or thousands of actual results.
