Why to many home page hits?

We are getting many hits to our home page. We don’t know why. The stats are not helping us to determine where the home page hits are coming from specifically? What are our options for getting better analytics around what is driving hits to the home page. We really don’t understand why there are so many home page hits, as opposed to post specific hits. Can you help? Thanks.

It’s quite normal to see an incredibly high rate of home page hits. Traditionally, folks visit the main page before deciding to proceed further through the site. Also, your full posts are displayed on the front page, so there’s not much incentive to click through to single posts, unless the visitor wants to comment.
