Why uploaded pics suddenly not displayed anymore?

Somehow some of the pics I uploaded to my blog are not visible anymore in my posts. The links to the images work though and they are still visible in the media library. Strangely enough, it happened only to some of the images I uploaded.

Can someone tell me what I should do?

I can see that 4 images were deleted from your media library, a few days ago. Might that be the cause?

no that is not the problem. those images weren’t needed anymore.

When I try to edit any post, the original image how it should be formatted for the post is visible!

When I try to edit any image via the edit button in the media library, It says “image data unavailable. Please re-upload image”.

Why? The uploaded image is still on the server?

Problem exist since today.
I use the theme Chateau.
Images are visible when I switch to the format “Gallery” on the format window in the “edit posts” menu, the other three – standard, aside, image still won’t display the image.

In your Media Library, I see that the image files are there, but the images themselves do not appear to have uploaded correctly.

Can you walk me through how you upload images to your blog? For example, do you upload images within the Editor by clicking on the “Add Image” button or do you click on “Add New” in the Media Library? Do you come across any errors when uploading your pictures or does everything appear to process correctly?

I had no errors when uploading the images.

I uploaded them through the “add image” button.

I’m afraid that there is a problem with the uploaded files themselves as I am unable to successfully download your images to my computer.

Unfortunately, it looks like you will need to re-upload these images and update the links to them in your posts if you want them to display properly on your blog.

However, it looks like you have a handful of missing files in your Media Library – i.e. the file is listed in your Media Library, but the image itself is not there. Can you let me know when this started happening? Were you able to successfully display these images in your posts at first and they disappeared later?

Deleted all pics that were affected by this problem.
I saved all the images in sRGB format, so this could not be the problem.
Uploading them again fails – image data could not be loaded says the media editor.
