Why was "Empty Spam" button removed from bottom of Spam Comments page?
-
Noticed this morning that the “Empty Spam” button has been removed from the bottom of the Spam Comments page. That button used to appear at both the top and the bottom of the page, which was very convenient, since the button was readily available once one had scanned the spam to be sure there were no comments that were not spam. With that second instance of the button gone, one now has to scroll back up to the top of the page. What a MAJOR PAIN!!!!!
Please put the “Empty Spam” button back on the bottom of the Spam Comments page!!!!!
Thanks,
Kat

Hi there,
The buttons will currently only show at the bottom if you have more than one page of comments in the particular filter. If there’s only one page, the buttons won’t appear.
This happened due to a change in the Core WordPress software, so we need to wait for them to fix it on that end. It looks like there’s already a bug report open for it here:

Thanks so much for your response. I am very glad to know that this problem has been noted and that a bug report is open. However, that bug report refers to the mobile version of the app. I use the regular computer version. Will the issue be resolved for both when the bug is fixed?
Thanks,
Kat

From the bug report:
Since [40297], these buttons are not displayed in bottom navigation either (on both mobile and desktop)
As I understand it, the proposed patch will fix this for both desktop and mobile views of the dashboard. I could be mistaken, but it’s best to see what happens if that patch is accepted in a future version of the software.

Thanks for the clarification. I missed that bit about both mobile and desktop.
I shall live in hope that the patch becomes permanent.
Regards,
Kat
