Why Was I Charged

I was just charged $59 which I was NOT expecting…received no prior notice of…and now am overdrawn on my card.
What was this for?
I thought this was a free account! And actually, just to confuse matters, I’m now seeing this profile I logged into shows @accessinspiration which was an account from YEARS ago. The only active site I have is http://www.AccessSpeakers.biz.

GREAT – I thought my above message was going to WP support, not to an open forum. I can’t figure out how to delete it or how to reach anyone at WP. Grrrrrrr…..

Gosh I wish there was a way to delete this. I understand now what the charge is for, but I’ve been charged twice so I need to connect with someone at WordPress and thus far that’s proving to be a challenge.
Any suggestions on how to reach a LIVE person?

Looking at AccessSpeakers.biz it doesn’t appear to be hosted here at WordPressdotcom.
If you the charge was from WordPressdotcom, you can enter the information on this website. https://wpchrg.wordpress.com
If the charge was indeed from WordPressdotcom, the refund window is 30-days on everything but domain registrations. Do you see the charge twice in your Manage Purchases? If so, you should be able to cancel one of them. https://wordpress.com/me/purchases If you don’t see those charges you might need to be logged in to a different account.

When you say ‘us’ do you mean you are with WordPress?
I went through your link to wpchrg and both of my charges were found.
What’s odd is that I can find reference to two different account numbers, but can only find one API key.
I was concerned maybe I was being charged for an old site I’ve never used, but I just went into the dashboard of my current site and see the same API key that I show I have paid for.
So I’m guessing this whole problem boils down to me being charged twice for the same API key.

The account you’re using to post here, accessinspiration, does not own any upgrades on WordPress.com. We also don’t have any renewable upgrade that costs $59

WordPress.com also does not use API keys, but Akismet does. Is it possible that you have an Akismet subscription for a self-hosted site?
If that’s the case, you can contact Akismet support via this link:
They’ll have access to all your account info needed to sort this out.

Thank you so much Kokkieh – looks like it was a WP.org Akismet charge that was duplicated and they have now refunded me for the extra charge.
