Why was my last blog post link (for my subscribers) broken?
-
My most recent blog post went up Friday 1/9/15. Two people who subscribe to the blog have reported that the link in the notification they received is not working – when they click on it they get an error message. (The post is about Long Bridge Park). Can you correct this and re-send the link?

Here’s the correct link to the post: https://melissaclarkphotography.wordpress.com/2015/01/09/discovering-long-bridge-park/
Did your subscribers send you the broken link? It would be useful for me to be able to compare them.
Thanks!

Yes, they did – it was part of their “notice” from WordPress about the new post. But the best way for me to share it with you is to forward the notification they shared with me, and I don’t know how to do it via this method. It would be easier if there is an email address for you to which I can forward their email.

For what it’s worth, what they received was a notice that said, “New Post on Garden Shoots – Discovering Long Bridge Park.”
That’s the link that was embedded in “Discovering Long Bridge Park.”
I would still like to forward the email they received to you, but need an email address from you to do that.

melissaclarkphotography,
I’ll send you a private e-mail and you can forward me the e-mail they received there.

Thanks for sending the example.
We had a bug in the software last week that was causing that behavior. It’s since been fixed, so you won’t have this problem again.
Unfortunately, we can’t resend the e-mail. One option is to delete the current post and repost it as a new post, which would send a new e-mail, but it would break the links to the old post, and might cause confusion to your users who already read the post.
My suggestion is to let it go this time.
Sorry about the inconvenience.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

No, I agree with your suggestion. Thank you so much for looking into it and responding so quickly.
