Why was the number of followers shown in my subscription widget inaccurate today
-
Today I noticed that the number of followers displayed in my widget was very low compared to the number of followers listed in my Site Stats. I presently have 42 WordPress.com followers and 130 email followers. However, in the admin section the subscription widget indicates that I have 177 followers, while publicly it was displaying 47 widgets when I first looked at it today.
I say “was” because it changed to 177 publicly after I unchecked and rechecked “Show total number of followers?” then click on the “Visibility” button and updated the home page. I have no idea if these actions made a difference, or why they might, but the correct number of followers is now displayed. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Correction: Last line of the first paragraph should read “publicly it was indicating 47 followers…” not “displaying 47 widgets.”
