Why were changes not saved?

Today I worked for an hour on my blog (http://gerryco23.wordpress.com/) on the post ‘Treme season 2’ (http://wp.me/poJrg-1Z8) thinking that saves were taking place regularly in the background, but when I went to save the draft manually I had to log in. After doing this I discovered none of my work had been saved, yet at the foot of the editing screen it states ‘Draft saved at 4:21:27 pm. Last edited by Gerry on November 28, 2011 at 16:18’ Can this save be retrieved from your server? I feel so disheartened. And why wasn’t the work being saved? Why was I logged out?

  • The WordPress.com login cookies are saved for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, this means that the cookie expired which you were writing your post.

Though you could type in the box, you weren’t actually interacting with your blog as you weren’t logged in.

Unfortunately, the post can’t be restored, as it technically never existed.
