I have a problem that is holding my blog project; when I add a something under a category that I already created, it shows under links. How can I stop this. Please visit my blog an have an idea http://www.blogodiario.wordpress.com you will noticed that everything I added under category is showing on links. Sorry that’s in spanish.

I took at a look and I am not sure what you are referring to. There are “post” categories and there are “blogroll” categories. Not sure how the two count be mixed unless you are trying to post to one of the “blogroll” categories instead of adding the link from your Admin => Blogroll => Add Link

I have found what I think might be a problem with the way WordPress treats the two kinds of categories, post and blogroll. This could be related to the problem that ktiguere reported.
While WordPress seems to keep two distinct lists of categories, I have found that if I use the same name for a blogroll category that I had already used for a post category, then the ID of the new blogroll category is the same as the original post category. While the ID is the same, the descriptions appear to be stored separately and can be different. The problem is that if I then change the name of the category under blogroll|Categories, the name of the post category is also changed. (When I do this, the ID also changes for both.) The same is true if I change the name under the Manage|Categories menu.
I think it would be better if these two types of categories were managed completely separately. I suspect the problem is that the ID used is some sort of hashcode generated from the name itself. The algorithm by which this is generated is apparently the same for both types of categories which is the source of the problem.

One more note on this. I determined that deleting the category under blogroll|Categories does not cause the category to be deleted under Manage|Categories. So, it seems that the two types of categories are stored separately somehow. The overlap appears limited to the issue that changing the name of one changes the other.
