Why when uploading my custom header does it say "image could not be processed"?

  I uploaded a jpeg image of my own header that I wanted to use. It uploaded the image, but after I had cropped it and clicked continue it then came up with a message “Image could not be processed. Please go back and try again.” I tried repeating the uploading and I re-saved and uploaded another version of my header but the same message keeps coming up at that stage in the process.

  Do you encounter the same problem when you try uploading the image to your Media Library? How about a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome.
