Why will it not allow me to log in with my personal account or access anything?

    Hello,

    I set up an account with WordPress to operate the site Blacksburg Reporter. My email registered with the account was e****@*****. My username was E*******. I wrote down all my login info, but upon putting it in, it said my username/email did not exist in the system. Next, I tried using an email that I did not have associated with the site and that one went through, and is how I’m writing this now. I cannot access anything, like Users or WP Admin, as it prompts me to login everytime I click those from the dashboard. And yet, when I go to log in with the ******@blacksburgreporter.com login info (which I just registered, somehow, to Blacksburg Reporter), it does not recognize it and says it is not an account.

    Not sure what’s going on, but help would be appreciated.

    As that site is not hosted here by WordPress.COM, our support docs do not relate to it, and we cannot provide support for it. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.     If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

    Timethief,

    I had been using WordPress.com when I began the site, even as it was hosted elsewhere, so I’m not understanding why I can no longer login on WordPress.com. It’s only recently that WordPress.com has not let me login to Blacksburg Reporter.

    There is no domain mapping upgrade for blacksburgreporter.com here at wordpress.COM and we cannot help you with any site that is not hosted here. Use the link I provided above to register a wordpress.ORG account and to post to their support forums please.
