Why will my LIKE button not register a like when I click it?

  When I click my like button I get a page that pops up (some word press page) which then quickly goes away and nothing is recorded at my like button. Everything is turned on properly In the administration panels so I do not understand the issue. Are Admins not allowed to like there own Pages?

  Hi there,

  No, you absolutely can like your own posts! The Like button is a small bit of Javascript which has to run in order for the “like” to be registered. It may be that there is some Add-On or Browser extension (such as No-Scripts or Norton) which is preventing the Javascript from running correctly. Some browsers, such as Internet Explorer, can even prevent Javascripts from running entirely without permission if their security settings are set sufficiently high.

  You can search online to see how to adjust your security settings and what settings may be right for you. You may also want to review what browser add ons and extensions/toolbars might be running on your browser.

  Heya,

  Make sure that you’re checking your javascript settings, not java. They’re two different things! But that could very well be it!
