WHY wone my site delete?!

I am trying to delete my blog but every time I try I have a message pop up saying I can’t delete a site with a domain registration upgrade and I may need to access the domain manager. I don’t need to access this and I want the thing off the internet. HOW can I do this?! The support section is useless so far as it does not tackle this problem. I tried cancelling private registration then deleting again but no luck :( HELP!!

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/cancel-domain/#cancel-domain and then you can delete the site (blog).To delete a free hosted WordPress.COM blog you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered a blog to delete the blog. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.

Do note that deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

In the meantime, as timethief mentioned, you can make it so no visitors can view your blog by setting it to private in the Site Visibility settings. We have information about how to do that here: Privacy Settings
