Why won't Google Chrome play one of my audio files

  I added a playlist to http://jazztraintobudapest.wordpress.com with 10 tracks and the fourth track (Nice girl like you) won’t play on Google Chrome, although it does play quite happily on IE and Firefox. I’ve resampled it and re-uploaded it, but it just won’t play on Google Chrome. The same applies when I try and play it on the attachment page so it is not a problem with the playlist code. All the other tracks play perfectly on all three browsers.

  Hi there,

  I checked and I had the exact same result! I did a quick search online for “mp3 files won’t play in chrome” and found that there is actually a significant history of this problem in chrome. It seems that depending on the bitrate that the MP3 was encoded at, there can be a completely random issue wherein Chrome will not play the MP3.

  You may want to take a look and then re-encode at a different bitrate.
