Why won't image appear in main post?

We’ve been using the opti theme for a long time with no problem, but suddenly this week the image uploaded for the main story will not appear on the home page. It does appear on the story itself, when you click on it, but the home page won’t show it. We’ve tried moving the cursor, making the image larger or smaller, aligning left or right or center – doesn’t make a difference.
We’re doing this exactly as we’ve always done it, but never had this problem before. What should we do differently to make the image appear?

As Opti is a Premium theme and we Volunteers cannot access and work with premium themes in our test blogs. Thanks – I guess I’ll try contacting the theme designer. I wonder, though, if it’s some type of new WordPress glitch, because someone else just posted with the identical problem a few minutes ago.
