Why won't images upload?

I have been uploading images directly into my posts for months now by using the “insert photo” button when writing a post. Yesterday and today when I tried to do the same thing, the same way, from the same file folder it wouldn’t work. It looked like it was uploading, got to 100%, but then the image never appeared in the post. I’d appreciate any help!
