Why won't my About page appear on my blog?

  I had a published About page as the front page of my blog. It holds most of my comments. That about page had a long statement on it and so I chose to create another page as the new front page which included a link to the longer description on the about page. I also added a new Pages widget to the sidebar so that readers could access it through there as well. But the links to the About page aren’t working. Instead of getting the about page, I get a list of my posts. It seems the about page cannot be accessed from the blog. I know it isn’t deleted because when I go under pages on my dashboard I’m able to access it and bring it up for editing with its content in tact. Please help. I have too many comments on there to lose that page and want to continue making it accessible to readers. many thanks.

  This shows that you have (erroneously) set the About page as your posts page. So first you need to go to Pages > All Pages and create a new page, title it Posts or whatever you see fit, add no content, publish. Then you need to go to Settings > Reading, select that page as your posts page, scroll down and click Save Changes. And then you need to edit the Welcome page and correct the link to the About page.
