Why won't my about section let me publish ?

Hi, I am new to this and have been updating my profile. All has been fine apart from my about section. I have a menu select bar where you can click home or about. I have published my about section bit it dosent seem to show. It just comes up with this is an example and has an option to make a post. I made the post and it went on to my wall. But I still can’t get my details up in the about section

All pages are at Dashboard > Pages > All Pages
Go to http://onlyshootingstarsblog.wordpress.com/edit.php?post_type=page to locate the About page that you created.
There you can hover over the About page title that was automatically included and click the Trash link.
Then you can create a custom menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#1-create-a-custom-menu and include your own About page in it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/view-all/#adding-pages

Sorry to interject, but I have a similar problem. How do I get HOME to show under my Pages?
