Why won't my adsense code work?
-
I attempted to paste my Google Adsense code to the text widget and it was stripped out. I can’t imagine that Google Adsense is a security concern for WordPress. Can you tell me why this may have happened? I would like to post those ads on my sidebar. Thank you!

We do have an advertising program called WordAds.
Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed.
There are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this guide to learn about the differences. We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.

Okay, last night, I applied for the WordAds for my blog. I got a message that I will hear back in a few weeks. Today, there is an ad on my blog. Because the Adsense code was being stripped out, I assumed that it wouldn’t appear on my blog. Above the ad, it says “advertisement” but says nothing about Adsense or WordAds. Additionally, when I tried to use the Adsense code in the text widget, I placed it on the sidebar and this ad is under my last post so I really don’t know where this ad came from. I don’t want to click on it because that violates the “don’t click on your own ads” rule. Can someone help me figure out if this ad is something that WordPress allows? I love having it but I don’t want to break any of the advertising rules.

Thanks so much!!

I have not received any notification from WordPress that ads have been added to my blog.
