why won't my background image change?

  i’m new here!

  attempting to set up my own background image on wordpress. I get as far as uploading the image, cropping and then saving

  but it doesn’t work! and just sticks to default.

  any help would be grand

  The size could be an issue. Not understanding that the header is a background image on that theme could be the issue.

  Recommended header size: 2560 pixels wide by 640pixels high.

  Have you consulted the detailed theme description page where set up instructions are found at https://wordpress.com/themes/gateway/ ?
