Why won't my insert link work?

  The insert link isn’t highlighted in visual mode and when I use the link option in text it inserts the link on the text page but doesn’t appear on the visual page or when I preview the page.

  Hi there!

  In order for the Link button to be active, you must highlight text to become the link.

  For example if you wanted the word “WordPress” to link to http://wordpress.com/, you would type WordPress into the editor, then highlight it and click on the link button where you would add the link.

  If you’re looking to add a plain text link like http://wordpress.com/, you can just paste that straight into your editor.
