Why won't my music files download to a mobile device?

I provide free jazz files to my readers but I realize now that those files can’t be downloaded from my blog on iphones or Ipads or android devices. Do I need to alter/add something to my dashboard? Apparently, only people with a desktop can utilize my full blog. Help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You’re doing the correct thing by adding the “save song here” link. By long-pressing that link, I get these options:

Tapping ‘save link’ downloads the mp3 to my device.

The only distinction is that on desktop, folks would need to ‘right-click’ on the link. On mobile, they need to long-press.

Sounds good, but when I long-press on my ipad I get these options: open – open in new tab – add to reading list – copy
Unfortunately, there’s nothing about “saving” the song. All of these options just opens the song and plays it. Maybe because it’s on MY Ipad I get those options. Not really tech-savy here, as you can tell. But if you say you can download from my blog, that’s good enough for me. Thanks…

    Hi Dave,

I did a little bit of research and it looks like this is a problem specific to iPad and Safari. Some users get around it by using apps like this one:

    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/downloads-downloader-download/id343307433?mt=8

But as the site owner, supplying that link directly to the file is the best thing to do. :)

Thanks, Alex. I’ll provide that link to my readers (what few there are) and see if that helps. I really appreciate your research and input.
