Why won't my page update changes?

I haven’t used WordPress for two years and I’m setting up a new blog, using the theme Sela with Mozilla browser. I’m trying to update a page but it doesn’t change. When in in the dashboard, it says that the changes have been saved, but when I view the page, it’s still the original no matter what I do. I’m trying to post images but I’ve also changed the text and that’s not any different, either. I’ve tried deleting everything and uploading again, saving each image separately, and get messages that it was successful but the page never changes when I check it. I’ve tried clearing the cache but it didn’t alter anything. I don’t have any plug-ins yet, so that can’t be the problem. Why won’t my page update? Also, when I click on ‘preview,’ it keeps taking me to the static home page instead of the page I’m working on.

What is the URL of the page you’re talking about?
YOu don’t have and can’t have plugins on a WordPress.com blog.

Usually clearing the cache should work. That would be the first thing to try. If you deleted the old page and created a new one but your browser is still showing the page you deleted then clearing your internet browsers cache should do the trick. Have you tried logging into your blog using a different browser? I would check to see if you have the same issue using a different browser because it could be one of your browser settings or Mozilla could need to be updated. I too am having similar issues with pages and posts not updating in Chrome but not in Safari. I haven’t gotten much help here yet so I did a lot of searching and so far only came up with this suggestion, so give it a try and let us know if there is any change.

I did try clearing the cache but it didn’t work. I finally got it to update by deleting everything and then saving tiny little pieces, one bit at a time. Thanks.

You failed to answer raincoaster’s question and we cannot provide an accurate answer unless or until you do so we can verify exactly where this”page” (blog or site) are hosted.What is the URL of the page you’re talking about?

Also, check to make sure the reading setting, I believe it is, is set so that the static front page is the one desired, and not the default page that WordPress comes with is the one selected.
