Why won't my pic upload? Why can't I see stats? Why can't I upgrade?

    Hello!

I have a few questions but they actually relate to another blog I’m starting to write for a company (I can’t find the support function through that WP blog – it’s an older one). Anyway, the problematic blog is: http://www.bubblebrothers.com/blog/wp-admin/post-new.php and here are my Qs.

They may have simple answers – I hope so! For someone with two blogs, I’m not hugely techie – sorry!

    1. On the Bubble Brothers WP blog above, I keep being prompted to upgrade. I would like to upgrade as the interface is so unfriendly compared to the one I’ve been using all this time at pauljkiernan.wordpress.com . But when I try to I get this meassage:

“You cannot update because WordPress 3.2.1 requires PHP version 5.2.4 or higher. You are running version 5.2.2.”

I have absolutely zero idea what this means but I would like to upgrade. Can I?

    2. I tried to write a post last night but when I tried to include a picture I got this message (whether I used Flash or browser option):

“Pic 016.JPG” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /home/bubblebrothers/www/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Why is this happening and how can I remedy it?

    3. Is there no way to look at traffic stats on this older BB blog? I have another blog (www.pauljkiernan.wordpress.com) and there are good stats included in that.

Any help appreciated! I’ve had two years of happily using WP for my personal blog with relatively few problems, but this Bubble Brothers one isn’t half as easy to use.

    Thanks ;)

    Paul.

  • http://www.bubblebrothers.com/blog/ is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress via their Codex and Support Forums.
