why won't my posts load?

On my brand spanking new macbook I have drafted a modest post of around 300 words and want to add a photo of 3.3MBs. Everytime I attempt to post it – and I’ve tried both the Browser and the Flash uploaders for this – I get the spinning wheel of death. It’s glacially slow and never fully loads. Any ideas?

Maximum upload size (without upgrades) is 1 GB.
Not sure why you’d want to upload such a large image when the maximum displayed image size for Blogum is only 545? You should be able to compress an image that size for the web to under 50K, and most certainly under 100!
Other than that bit of unsolicited advice, I can’t say why you are not able to upload such a [large] image.
Perhaps it’s a browser problem, or an internet speed connection problem?

Ok, thanks a lot for this. I figured out how to shrink the jpeg so now it’s 70, 550 bytes. My browser is Safari. I’ve got ADSL which loads super fast on everything else. But the wheel of death spins on endlessly every time I click on Publish.
Any other ideas?
