Why won't my posts publish when I click on publish?

    when i try to publish a post that is ready, I am told, “draft updated” Sometimes it tells me “post scheduled” but actually it remains in drafts until I actually tell it a time to publish, despite the deceptive “publish immediately” button. When I try to “publish immediately” my posts are caught in some sort of limbo, where they remain unpublished.

    Also, sometimes, wordpress publishes my drafts and doesn’t tell me. When I try to remove them or change them back to drafts, they disappear (not in drafts, not in trash, not in scheduled, not in published) just gone.

    AND (feeling rather frustrated with wordpress this morning!!) how, for the love of pete, can I change the image that comes up on facebook? It used to be easy and intuitive and now, as best I can tell, it is not possible.

    Was there some sort of wordpress update that has made everything that used to be easy now really buggy and unstable?? That’s what seems to have happened here, anyway.

    Hi there. Are you using the new Beep Beep Boop editor or the classic editor? If you’re experiencing these problems in the New Editor and the My Sites pages, please let me know and I’ll report it to staff as that editor is known to have problems.

    We can’t control that and have never been able to control it. If you have a featured image for a post or a blavatar uploaded for your blog, WordPress.com “suggests” Facebook uses that image, but the software at Facebook ultimately determines which image is used. The only way to control this completely is to post your image and a link to your post to Facebook manually. https://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-image-thumbnail/

    If Facebook is consistently showing an image from an older post with new links, it usually helps to flush your Facebook cache. Instructions to do that are at the end of the support doc I linked above.
