Why wont my widgets disappear on my web page?

  How can I inactivate my widgets? I have dragged them to the inactivation zone and they are still on my webpage.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The normal layout of the theme is main column plus sidebar, and the sidebar cannot be empty, so when you don’t add any widgets yourself the theme displays a default set of widgets. If you don’t want a sidebar at all on your static page(s), you edit the page(s) and select the no-sidebar template. Or you switch to a different theme.
