Why won't my wordpress posts' images show in my tumblr site?
-
They show up fine in the pop-up box to create the post and also in my tumblr dashboard but on my pollypurpose.tumblr.com site itself they only show headings and nothing else. From Instagram or uploaded directly they do show ok. The ones publicised from wordpress are blank with just a heading (even with a featured image and post-type set to image). How do I fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy!
I took a look at your Tumblr site, and it looks like a recent WordPress.com post may have been publicized correctly as shown here:
Is that displaying as you had expected it to? If not, could you let me know specifically what elements are missing?

Hi Jeremy – thanks for your reply :-) The latest posts have indeed pushed the images through and they were posted using the Schedule feature. If you look on page 2 http://pollypurpose.tumblr.com/page/2 though, these were sent to tumblr using the sharing buttons directly from the post already published, and they’re blank, no text or photo just the heading :-(

Thanks for passing the example along! I was able to recreate on my side sharing some posts to Tumblr. I’ll dig a bit more to see why this might be occurring and what we can do to fix this up. I’ll report back as soon as I have more information!

The “issue” is that Tumblr automatically chooses the “Link” post format when you use their sharing button. By default, the “Link” posts on Tumblr are very bare bones. This doesn’t just affect WordPress.com sites. For example, I tried sharing this NY Times article as a test:
In my stream on Tumblr, it displayed with more context:
However, I received the same kind of link display on my actual Tumblr:
