Why won't paragraph spacing hold after multiple saves?

I am working on a very long new page (it’s a voting guide) with many many previews and saves along the way. After saving and previewing dozens of times, some of the spaces between paragraphs simply disappear, and the text is displayed without paragraph spacing. How is this happening and how can I stop it? This has happened before, but in the current case, where I am trying to complete and post this work, it’s not only exasperating and time-wasting, but I fear I will never get it to post correctly. Can you help me?

Hi Eve,
I’m very sorry to hear about the problems that you’re having with the spacing getting removed from your post! The formatting has been known to be cleared when working in the same window for a very long period of time, especially if you use the “back” button instead of navigation buttons.
The good news is that every time you hit the Preview button (as long as you are connected to the internet), your blog post gets a saved revision. You can see them by logging in to your Dashboard and going to Posts >> All Posts and then clicking on the post you’re working on. You can read about them here:

If you find that all of the formatting has been cleared (so it all looks like one long paragraph), you should immediately go to your revision history and check the most recent. You should be able to see one that is recent that still has the formatting in place. In most cases that is the only difference. You can restore to that revision and keep blogging!

Thanks, I didn’t know about the revision history. But —- the formatting problem remains. It is somewhat random in its timing. Sometimes the formatting remains through several saves/previews, then goes away. A few minutes ago, after Previewing, I saw that a section wasn’t holding onto spaces between paragraphs. I entered spaces, saved, hit Preview, and they were gone. Back to edit, spaces were not there. Added them again, saved, hit Preview. Still gone. Still not there on editor. This is a serious problem. We cannot get out voters guide out because of these glitches. We have spent hours and hours redoing and redoing formatting. What else can you recommend to fix this problem?

Hi Eve,
The only other thing I can suggest is that you try editing on a different browser in case that is what is causing the issue. And remember that if you saved and the spaces are there and then you previewed the page and the spaces were gone, you can restore to that saved version and the spaces will be present. You can carry on editing from that point with spaces intact. No time will be lost!
