Why won't the default widgets clear from page when deleted?

  I can’t get the default widgets off of my blog’s home page. The new ones are showing up on the ‘About’ page but not on the ‘Home’ page. I can’t figure out why this is happening. I’ve already refreshed the page several times, and have looked around the dashboard to see if the current widgets were saved in another widget area (or menu area) and they aren’t.

  I think I’ve figured it out. I think the theme I chose was specifically meant to have the home page be a landing page and not an updated blog. I’m changing the theme and that will do the trick.

  I’m not sure which theme you had in the first place, but some of our themes do indeed behave that way. You can change you theme, or if you’d rather have a different set of pages be your home or blog pages, you can follow these instructions:
