Why won’t the edit box go away?
-
I’m new to WordPress, and blogging…I’m trying to add pictures into my post(s). I get the files uploaded fine, and get the “File URL” part done, and even get as far as the “Add to Post” button, then the edit screen goes white, and I can’t close it. I can see the picture in the shadowed “Write” area behind it, but the darn edit pop-up won’t go away. I always have to navigate away from the screen, and lose the changes I just made (since I can’t get back to the post to click “Save”). Can anyone help me??? Thanks in advance!

Make sure that you have the latest version of flash installed in your browser: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ .
Also, when the white screen appears, wait about ten seconds and the do a forced reload of the page. Sometimes that will take care of the issue.
If you are using IE6 as a browser, think about upgrading to IE7, or better yet to Firefox. IE6 has some issues with some of the features on WordPress.com.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Flash update (man, whatever I was running was OLD) took care of the problem. I’ll check out Firefox, too!

Okay…it’s doing it again. :-( I updated Flash again this time, and installed Firefox (did a reboot, etc, etc), and I’m having the same problems. I’ve broken my WordPress. Bummer.

Did you install flash in Firefox? If not, go to the link I provided above (while in Firefox) and install the flash player into Firefox.
