Why won't the image associated with my new post show on my facebook page?

I created a new post with a photo included. When the post was shared with Twitter, the photo is displayed. However, when the post was shared to Facebook, another photo (from my instagram widget) was displayed instead of the photo associated with the post. I can’t figure out how to get the correct photo to display on my facebook page.

Hi there – That’s odd. The image that we are sending to Facebook is the one that’s included in your post, and that’s the one that comes up when I share this post on Facebook. I’m not sure why Facebook would pull an image from a widget, but I did have another recent report of this. Please let me know if this continues to happen.
Also, if you want to be certain of which image Facebook uses, you can set a featured image for your posts. Here are instructions for how to do that: Featured Images

Thanks. I tried doing the “featured Image” thing and that did not change the image sent to Facebook.
It still shows the image from the instagram widget.
Problem unsolved.

Hi there – For your most recent post, http://purlinjsrovingyarnco.wordpress.com/2013/09/21/sorry-todays-a-no-go/ , there is no featured image set, nor is there an image in the post. Facebook in that case should default to your href=”http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/”>Gravatar or Blavatar, but since you haven’t set an image for either, it seems to be pulling the first image of a certain size it finds on your site.
I checked in the Facebook debugger, and got this message:
“Provided og:image is not big enough. Please use an image that’s at least 200×200 px.”Next time you publish a post, can you please set a featured image or insert an image in the post that’s at least 200×200? Then, let me know how that works. If it still doesn’t appear correctly, please leave everything as is until I’ve had a chance to check it out. :)

which I have now set to “private”. It was this post that I did try to put in a “featured” image, which did not solve the problem, and there is a photo associated with this post which did not show up in the facebook post; instead my instagram widget pic was posted to facebook instead.I think we can stop going back and forth for now. I will let you know if this problem happens again.

Hi there – I looked at your Facebook page and saw your most recent post had an image from your sidebar, as did the private post. With the private post, I’m still seeing the image included in the post when I manually share its link on Facebook, but I see that it did show the sidebar image earlier.
Please do let me know if you continue to have this problem. Facebook has apparently made some changes to the size of image that they’re looking for and we’re trying to narrow down exactly what’s happening.

Okay, I just posted another post on my page and it is still picking up the instagram widget!!!!!!!!!
I am so frustrated!

I ended up deleting it from my facebook page because of this.

Hi there – When I manually share that post on Facebook, it shares the correct image. I’m not sure why Facebook is showing your sidebar image, since we’re sending it the correct image. We have limited control over what image Facebook chooses to share, but I’ve reported this to our developers.
