why won't the UI for following blogs work for me on my dashboard?

  I’m trying to get away from using browser bookmarks and change over to following other bloggers via subscriptions. The FOLLOWING tab on my dashboard allows me to paste/type in the URL of the blogs I follow, but the <FOLLOW> button has no effect. Nothing happens at all.
