Why won't WordPress accept a WordPress-created XML file?

  When I downloaded my blog’s contents with the idea of creating an archive blog, it spat out an XML file. I opened a new WordPress blog, tried to import it and received the message “Your upload file contained more attachments than we are equipped to process.” It then told me to contact support. Which is this, I think.
