why won’t wordpress.org load up on my computer?
I want to get the plugin but no tab under the Dashboard shows up. -
Hi there, we don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons so that’s why you’re not seeing a tab in your dashboard. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/
However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/
What feature are you looking to add with a plugin?
For more information on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, please see: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Just let me know if you need further help.

Your Question: What feature are you looking to add with a plugin?
I’m looking for ecommerce plugin.Thanks,
Patti -
E-commerce isn’t possible here at WordPress.com.
If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested.
Thank you.
