Why won't WP send Contact Form notifications to email of my choice?

failure to change notification preference for my contact form notifications.
I’ve tried three times to change the email notifications of Contact Form messages go to. They keep getting sent to (email visible only to moderators and staff), the email my account is registered under, even though I have used the steps outlined in Support for changing it. I even deleted the contact form, recreated it, changing the Notification Preference first.
I have a feeling you’re going to tell me I can’t use (email visible only to moderators and staff) because it is directly connected to my web site, mistymorningbakery.com, hosted by WP. If so, that is going to make me very frustrated and likely to find a new web host.
This problem is causing me to miss a lot if business inquiries, and lose sales, because the notifications keep going to my personal account, and into Junk, on top of it.

Hi Sue,
That’s strange that the form-builder wasn’t putting in your email address correctly! I have manually put in the address which you wanted in the contact form on the Contact Us page. I also sent a test message, so you should have one waiting for you in your inbox. Let me know if you didn’t get it and I’ll take a further look.

I am going to have someone sent a message from the Contact Us today, just to make sure it’s working out there for everybody, and not just in your magic WP land, haha.
